Whoa. Some time since i last wrote, right?

So this is a little review of star-trek. I have never seen a trek film before, and I have never written a review either. But, as they say, sometimes when you have nothing else to do, you should do something new.

Although, of course, it must also be said that i don't know who would say that thing about doing something new. Maybe me? Hmmm!

Star Trek! I have, as already noted, never seen a trek-film before, so when I went in here with a friend I had the ususal questions

what?
but the film is wonderfully straightforward. It explains who the people are, and also throws in lots of one-liners that everyone in the audience found very funny. I didn't get them, because by the time the first one-liner had popped up, my friend wasn't talking to me anymore because I'd asked too many questions.

The plot is fun! These people come back in time to blow up a planet because their planet was blown up because someone didn't get there in time. That person - a Vul-can called "Spock", must have been lazing around when he came up with the idea to save this planet - it is going to get destroyed by a sun, so he intends to eat up the sun with a black hole. Looking back, it doesn't make sense that that would save the planet - unless it is a planet that can survive without sunlight, and also survive being sucked into a black hole, which seems unlikely. But the film saves itself because so many things happen to quickly and so often and people are so busy looking attractive and saying one-liner things that this little issue never popped up at all.
There is a monster chase scene that is quite entertaining and had me leaping in my seat a bit, and there are explosions and other manic things going on. I don't see how you could be bored in this film, it is sumptious and fast. I would see it again (and, in fact, i did, because i then had to re-see it with my girlfriend, who wanted to watch it also).
